We would like to introduce our company’s initiatives regarding titanium recycling.

This year, we once again collected metal scraps, including titanium scraps.

They are sorted by size and material.

 

 

Sustainable forms of metal recycling

Our recycling process is as follows (see the red circle on the right).

A unique recycling method that makes effective use of titanium scraps.

✔ As part of our efforts to realize a sustainable society,

We recycle titanium scraps generated during metal processing .

Instead of redissolving, this is an additive recycling process that minimizes environmental impact.

• By reusing scraps that would otherwise be discarded as additives to other metals, we
  are achieving both efficient resource utilization and a reduction in environmental impact.

• Titanium has properties that stabilize and improve the properties of other metals, and
  this function is being utilized to create new value.

• While a common recycling method involves remelting and reusing titanium itself,
  this process requires extremely high levels of component control and measures to prevent contamination.
  Therefore, it is often limited to pure metal with a clear origin and in excellent condition,
  resulting in high costs and energy consumption.

• On the other hand, for titanium alloy scraps such as pure titanium type 2 and β alloy used in eyeglass materials,
  it is more environmentally and economically rational to reuse them as additives rather than remelting them back into materials. This is because remelting
  requires a lot of electricity and thermal energy, which also leads to an increase in CO₂ emissions.
